HT5. Malia and Sasha Obama party with rapper Drake, former first daughters scantily clad

Malia and Sasha Obama, the daughters of former President Barack Obama, have grown up to lead their own lives, and they recently made headlines for partying with Canadian rapper Drake at a popular Hollywood hotspot. The sisters, both now in their 20s, were seen enjoying a night out in Los Angeles, dressed in trendy outfits that generated a buzz online.

While Malia and Sasha’s lives have often been in the public eye due to their famous father, their recent appearance with Drake sparked both admiration and discussion. Their outfits, fashionable and revealing, were part of a night that saw the sisters living it up at The Bird Streets Club, a well-known venue in the city.

Life After the White House

Malia (born July 4, 1998) and Sasha (born June 10, 2001) spent much of their childhood in the spotlight as the daughters of Barack and Michelle Obama. From 2009 to 2017, when their father served as President of the United States, the girls lived at the White House, constantly under the watchful eyes of the public. Despite the fame, Michelle Obama made sure her daughters grew up with a sense of normalcy.

“They had to learn how to balance the unwanted attention, but do it politely. To build their own lives in the spotlight and not be eaten up by it,” Michelle explained on the Moments that Make Us podcast with Melinda French Gates. Michelle also shared that she raised them to be independent, saying, “I’m not raising you to live here forever. You’re going to manage your life.”

Malia Obama: A Filmmaker in the Making

Malia Obama, now 25, has carved her path in the entertainment industry. After graduating from Harvard University in 2021, she took a gap year and worked as a production assistant on Halle Berry’s Extant and as a writer for Amazon’s Swarm. In 2024, Malia made her debut as a filmmaker at the Sundance Film Festival with her short film Heart, marking the beginning of her career in the industry.

Sasha Obama, now 23, graduated from the University of Southern California in 2023 with a degree in sociology. She had previously taken a unique route to her degree, starting her first year at the University of Michigan during the pandemic and studying online. Now living with Malia in Los Angeles, the sisters continue to support each other in their personal and professional lives. Michelle Obama shared her joy at seeing them bond, saying, “It’s like the one thing you want for them.”

A Night Out with Drake

Malia and Sasha were recently spotted partying at a club in Hollywood with rapper Drake, who was in Los Angeles for his “It’s All A Blur” tour. Both sisters were dressed to impress, with Sasha sporting a black cropped corset that bared her midriff and paired with low-slung cargo pants. She accessorized with jewelry and styled her braids in a high ponytail. Malia, on the other hand, wore a sheer lace-up top and high-waisted printed trousers, completing her look with chunky boots.

The sisters were seen enjoying the night until 4 a.m., surrounded by friends. Drake, a fan of the Obama family, has previously expressed interest in portraying Barack Obama in a biopic, a sentiment the former president supports. In 2010, Drake jokingly said, “I could play him” if a movie about Barack Obama’s life were ever made. Barack Obama later responded, saying, “Drake seems to be able to do anything he wants. I mean, that is a talented, talented brother. So, if the time comes and he’s ready, I suspect my daughters would be just fine with it.”
